Oral hygiene is one of the most important things to practise to avoid tooth loss. Many people know to brush their teeth but not as many do it correctly – teeth should be cleaned twice a day for two minutes in the morning and two at night.

It is also important that you should see a dentist and a hygienist regularly. A dentist is not just there for an emergency – they can spot problems early and stop them from progressing. Watching what you eat is also a good thing to do if you want to keep your teeth intact and healthy. Avoid too many sticky and sugary foods as these can cause a lot of plaque to build up on the teeth – this then can cause tooth decay and of course pain in the tooth.
