The Challenges of Working from Home

During lockdown, many of us have had to adapt to a new life. Some of us have been furloughed, so have gone from a busy working life to days stretching out with nothing to do. Some of us have had to continue working, whilst changing our working practices. There are many people who have had to continue working, but from home.

Working from home has been becoming more common in recent years, as technology improves and many people find it an easier way to balance work and childcare commitments, as well as not having to do a long commute into the office. But there are a majority of people that are not used to working from home, and many that never have.

When the instruction was given to remain at home, a huge number of people had to quickly readjust. Offices were cleared and hastily set up in bedrooms and on dining tables around the country. Companies such as this computer repair Gloucester based company were on hand to smooth out technical issues on home computers that had not been used for work before.

As well as this, school was out, and parents were not only having to adjust their own working lives, but also having to help their children adjust to their home classroom. Add young toddlers and babies into the mix, and you have a recipe for disaster!

So, whilst many people will find that working from home works for them, many will breathe a sigh of relief at being able to go back to the office!
