Google Maps is premiering several news in the last days of December. Some of them, like the new public transport notices that offer notifications so you know when you have to get off the bus or train, are already available in the latest beta for Android.

Others, like the possibility of sharing custom lists of places from the web, are available for Local Guides, and now you can also use a light version of the app designed for devices with low memory and connected to unstable networks, Google Maps Go.

Public transport notifications

The new Google Maps offers the option to track the departure times of the bus or train, offers estimated arrival times and also shows notifications that tell you if you should get off or transfer to another line.

Before you could only see the progress between the different stops, but now you will have more detailed notifications. You just have to choose a destination, select public transport and start navigation.
